Hypertemporality

Interesting online exhibit exploring the theme of hypertemporality - that in this age of prolific information spread across the web, art can be formed not only by the items that exist in cyberspace, but also the length of time that they occur. I think Migration is a really fun way to look at the development of the internet as a temporal map. But my favorite by far (perhaps relating to my youth as a video game junkie) is Erik Loyer’s “The Persistence of Hyperbole”, which explores different times in Erik’s life as defined by iterations of the video game Wolfenstein. I particulary like the way that information is displayed in two columns (columns refresh upon the completion of the other) and how the timeline is actually a loop. Pretty cool.
